Needless to say she opened it on her way out and within seconds I had every one of her friends accosting me about it, some claiming she said yes and others claiming she said no. I never really did find out anything from her; it all came to me as hearsay. I then kept being reminded about that fateful day for several more years, with people shouting at me during gym class, while I was doing my pull-ups in an effort to win a National Physical Fitness Award (the Presidential was a little out of my league) - "Ruvym, do it for Jamie." Point being, as far as I'm concerned, I have an outstanding date request that's still pending. Good surreal, but surreal nonetheless.
